Volunteer

The New Quarterly is a small not-for-profit organization that is primarily fuelled by chocolate, ice cream, and a love for making art happen. If you would like to help us do what we do, please send us an email and a copy of your resume to circulation [at] tnq [dot] ca. Though our office is tiny, we will do our best to find a volunteer opportunity to suit your experience.

We are currently seeking volunteers to join our Board of Directors and assist with our monthly charity bingos. Volunteering for a 3-hour bingo shift (on a team of 3 volunteers) at the K-W Bingo Centre helps TNQ to raise much-needed funds to keep us in print. It also provides an excellent opportunity to get to know our editorial and governance board members in an informal setting.

We're also looking for volunteers with extensive web experience to help us with Drupal updates.

An award-winning journal with a sense of fun, The New Quarterly has been publishing the best of new Canadian writing for 31 years. We offer a lively mix of fiction, poetry, author interviews, and talk about writing. Each issue will introduce you to a new generation of Canadian writers, share our delight in the sound and sense of a story well-told, and take you inside great writing.

TNQ writers have been nominated for Giller prizes, Governor General’s Awards, Griffin Poetry Prizes, Writer’s Trust Notable Author awards, Journey prizes, Commonwealth prizes, National Magazine Awards, and more.
