Four-Chambered Heart
- She is a soothsayer coaxing
- images to screen, translating
- the codex of black and white smudges: dark
- muscle, bright bone, inky fluid
- wavering like aurora borealis in the pitch.
- Cool sapphire gelatin spread
- across the expanse—her sterile
- wand plumbs the fathoms,
- digs at humus, subsoil, bedrock unearthing
- strange objects in the shape of lucky clover,
- an Adonis Blue Butterfly at rest.
- Her words come like a balm,
- a salve slathered upon us, the clinical
- space fills up with the odour
- of bursting buds, clean clouds,
- black awakened soil in new spring:
- Oh, look at the beautiful four-chambered
- heart and the well inserted cord.
