Celebrate the communal power of storytelling with “The Truth Is… An X Page Workshop Performance.”

Based on Lynda Barry’s teaching philosophy, “The X Page” is the opposite of a blank page. It’s the space where we enter an image using all of our senses. Fourteen refugee and immigrant women living in Waterloo Region used the X Page exercise over the course of a 12-week writing and performance workshop to develop a personal narrative. With the guidance of local professional artists, they’ve taken their stories from the page to the stage and are ready to share their stories with our community.
